This Super Full Moon in Pisces is brimming with idealism, vision and compassion.
Pisces is a Mutable, Water sign and the last sign of the zodiac. Pisces encompasses All That Is. There are no boundaries. Ruled by Neptune, it is the higher octave of Venus, thus resonates to the highest kind of love that is not attached to Self. It is also ruled by Jupiter, who resonates to the idealism of our beliefs and philosophy.
Doesn’t this sound fabulously heart warming? (I just love my new pair of rose colored glasses.)
(Visit EarthSky.org for more on Super Full Moons. This is the first of three in 2015.)
Last New Moon, we began a lunar cycle that focused on our creative gifts and now two weeks later, the fruits of our intentions, if we set them, are released into the Cosmos for Divine Review and if suitable, the gods will have them brewed into a fine elixir. This isn’t about passing or failing, it is a time to recognize the natural order of cycles, the flow.

Full Moon in Water Sign, Pisces
For some, that means time to take a breather, retreat, harmonize with the notion of fluidity (take a bath, sauna, steam); others might connect with nature, meditate for inspiration, swim in the cosmic ocean while enjoying the fullness of the celestial body that represents our conditioned self, the Moon.
Pisces is famous for escape, and there are all manner of methods to escape. A glass of the elixir may do the trick. What will support your evolution? “No judgment here. We must experience it all in order to discern what is useful,” says the mature Virgo Sun.
The Sun and Jupiter are conjunct in Virgo. Neptune and the Moon are conjunct in Pisces.
That means Jupiter and Neptune are in Full Phase, just like the Sun and Moon. What do Jupiter and Neptune have in common? See the first paragraph. They both rule Pisces! Jupiter is considered the old ruler of Pisces, before Neptune was discovered.
On September 16, the two will come into an exact opposition, an aspect of awareness, but since they are so close to the Sun and Moon, they are relevant to this Full Moon. It might be time for another contemplation on how we come to our beliefs. Read More on Jupiter, Neptune and the opposition.
As these two great ones oppose each other, and we agree the aspect of an opposition brings awareness, perhaps we can say that this transit has the capacity to reveal. A transit of revelation to bring to light the Truth and, we always include the polarity, what is not True. Could one or more deceptions come to light? Oppositions manifest as separations too. The Truth is separated from the Lie. Look to the media (Jupiter) to put a critical (Virgo) light (conjunct the Sun) on something hidden (Neptune).
In practical daily life—
Whatever Jupiter aligns with, it expands. So we can expect that purpose, practicality and work become more important, so much that we might consider what our philosophy and our vision about work actually is. Where did the beliefs come from anyway? A worthy contemplation. (But you said it was a time to retreat! Yes, but not for the whole month.) The Pisces Moon wants to retreat, but the Virgo Sun is abundantly supported by Jupiter to broaden its mission to improve, support and serve.
Neptune conjunct the Moon, is like a double Pisces statement. It is so sensitive, so attuned to its surroundings including the emotions of others, and to the divinity and potential of humanity. Neptune is the space maker. It dissolves boundaries. You become me and I become you. We are interdependent. We are perfection. We don’t need to notice any of the other stars and planets and asteroids.
So, while Saturn and Pluto are in a balsamic semi-square are forcing the issue of conscious social responsibility for the third time since last fall, balsamic Neptune/Moon can temporarily lull us into thinking everything is just fine, as we dip our Piscean feet into pools of stardust.
Jupiter is entering gibbous phase with Uranus (exact on the 2nd), so even if we check out for a bit, we’re just moving into another phase of creative vision. The ideas are there, the duds must be weeded out, and the authentic ones nourished thoroughly to prepare for harvest.
Venus and Mars are almost conjunct in creative Leo (exact on the 31st) and our needs and desires continue to align. The resources are available. It is about risking love and creating passion for every project tackled. With Mars in Leo making a trine to Pallas Athene in Sagittarius, the two warriors, archetypes of feminine and masculine courage, have a go at whatever mission comes along and report success more often than not if they take a chance.
The blessing of this Full Moon is the awareness of when we recognize the “reality” (Virgo) that we are interconnected (Pisces) we can make reasoned sacrifices to dedicate to collective healing.
