Yod’s induce perspective. The pattern contains two inconjuncts (150 degree angles) which astrologer, Kevin Burk, describes as aspects that create radical changes of context, a sextile and an Apex point, which is activated by a transiting planet.
Let’s break this pattern it down.
The planets involved are Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus and the Moon in Aquarius, plus as a bonus, transiting Chiron.
1. Mercury and Jupiter in Virgo are conjoined and make a Gibbous inconjunct to Uranus.
Right and left brain combo, Mercury and Jupiter, crunch the details to reveal a plan and Uranus throws in a lightning bolt or two, which generates a whole different spin. This completely changes the internal process. If this were about the digestive system, there might be some heart burn or a bacteria imbalance in the small intestines due to the heat generated by Uranus.
It would be natural to correlate this symbolism to health and wellness (Virgo), and also to the connection between Jupiter teachers and Mercury youth and the inner (Gibbous) turmoil relative to individual expression.
2. The Moon makes a Gibbous inconjunct to Mercury and Jupiter.
On this side of the Yod, representing the emotional body and the Ego/Mind (which responds to emotional triggers) is the Moon. The Moon is in Aquarius ( is ruled by Uranus! See 1.) Now the radical change of context involves emotional responses. This Moon needs the freedom to respond and think “out of the box.” Digestive issues could be cared for by healing emotional wounds using alternative methods. Those who have mastered wisdom (Jupiter in Virgo) and a younger generation seeking healing, self-improvement and self-mastery, those growing into Jupiterians (Mercury in Virgo), gain objectivity about each others’ versions of individual expression.
3. The Moon and Uranus are in a Last Quarter sextile.
Sextiles are support aspects which can be useful for follow through or to make opportunities happen. The ability to be objective is easier. Let go and let Spirit.
4. Apex.
This point directly opposite Mercury and Jupiter, has Chiron in Pisces crossing it. In the Full Moon chart, the happy sun is circling it at the top. It is through Chiron, the shamanic master of healing, and the one intimate with hurts especially related to the collective psyche (Pisces), who brings these afflictions out into the open. The wounds of our evolving youth, the wounds of our elders. The loss of meaning and forgotten natural laws and principals of that feed both our Spirt and teach how to nourish our physical bodies.
Chiron, at the Apex and in opposition, brings awareness through mystical revelation or persecutionary (is that a made-up Pisces word?) conflict. The ideal is a path toward balance and healing. Oppositions lead to decisions. Full awareness of a pattern offers resolution of the Yod Pattern.
Remember that transits take time to develop. They are living breathing cycles with ebbs and flows. Jupiter/Chiron energy is active prior to the Full Moon.
The opposition to Jupiter is exact on August 12 and there have been two others since last November. Jupiter opposes Chiron. November 3, 2015. February 23, August 12, 2016.
It is Mercury’s proximity to Jupiter and the Yod Pattern with the Full Moon which led me to insights into unexpected current professional activities.
Cycles begin at conjunctions, so when was the last one with Jupiter/Chiron? It happened three times in 2009 AND they occurred at the same place as this coming Full Moon around 25° Aquarius. May 23, July 22, and December 7. Seeing this, my eyes opened a bit wider.
In 2009, I became a landed immigrant and was allowed to bring my personal belongings to Canada. At that first conjunction, I was in the States doing just that. Being a landed immigrant gave me freedom to pursue work in the way I wanted.
During that time, I had become trained in a vibrational healing modality called bioresonance. It was something completely new for me, something that never was part of my general professional plans.
Yes, helping, serving or empowering others was and is a primary mission, but a “healing” practice was not in my Mercury field of awareness.
By the first conjunction I had purchased equipment, was trained and felt ready to go. My mother was my first “client.” She flew in to see me and then others came gradually by word of mouth. My apprenticeship began with very low rates. This was a way to support my astrological aspirations.
I have a Venus/Chiron midpoint at 26 Aquarius. Venus rules my North Node (Future). Chiron (healing). Aquarius (Bioresonance). There was another Jupiter transit that was active in my chart, but it felt less about this work, at the time, and a minor influence from the Jupiter/Chiron conjunction personally.
Fast forward to living in British Columbia. Present time. Since the move here in 2014, offering or promoting this healing modality, has not been a priority other than returning to see the wonderful clients and friends (Aquarius) in Saskatchewan, who trusted sitting with me and this alternative tool; or offering distance sessions.
This was the year to get better at blogging, learn about SEO and offer my website services (again to support my astrology habit.) That’s all been going really well.
To my surprise, during this Jupiter/Chiron opposition, bioresonance requests have substantially increased and have included people traveling from afar (Jupiter) to sit with me and this Aquarian equipment that harmonizes natural frequencies and somehow helps people feel better. This is happening without any promotion on my end.
What to make of this? To me it feels like just being part of the flow of a bigger picture and an expansive global field that is open to healing.
Professional support and transformation is active in other ways in my chart, so I did not suspected a big change in this area. It’s fabulous. It also shows how letting go and letting Spirit, can open doors when least expected.
And, it reinforces the delight of investigating the symbolic language of Astrology.
