An Airy Full Moon chart
As I was pondering the various aspects of the Full Moon chart, it occurred to me that the prominence of Air is worth considering.
The 12 zodiac signs are categorized into 4 natural elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The Air signs are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. By nature these are social signs and are motivated by the Mind.
Just by itself, the Gemini Moon means Air emphasis. Adding in the other planets and asteroids at the time of the Full Moon, there is an additional quality of air.
Even more interesting in this chart, is the relationship between the Gemini Moon, Aquarius Mars and Libra Jupiter. All Air signs in a Grand Trine pattern. A Grand Trine is when three planets are at 120 degree angle from each other and all in the same element, which for this chart is in Air.
So what’s the story?
Gemini is the 3rd Sign of the Zodiac. It’s an Air sign, ruled by the planet, Mercury, with Mutable modality. Gemini searches the neighborhood for information. It likes to identify what it does not know. Objects get labeled. Once we have dealt with Taurus survival issues, we might want to label a particularly treacherous mushroom with a name, and tell others about it, to avoid future stomach cramps and continue surviving.
Now mushrooms might have led to an interesting story.

Sadly, I did not come up with a good story for this Full Moon forecast. Here is how I will explain it and we shall see if it is relevant. I caught the vibe of the wonderful Grand Trine, with its glorious reputation of beneficence and that positive outcome will result with little or no effort— and did not take advantage of it!
I asked for a dream about this Full Moon. No dream appeared. Basically, I didn’t do much thinking at all or investigation or reflection. I just didn’t feel like it. There were too many other things that captured my interest. Like walking on the KVR Trail. Like investigating the local Art Gallery. Like too much screen-time. Deciding what to take to the neighborhood potluck.
The potential of this Full Moon is great. There will be many ideas, and connections to feed our interest. That is what Air energy is about. It has a mental orientation. Picture a bunch of friends and old lovers, people who feel like brothers and sisters, or our community. “Here’s what we oughta do about Standing Rock” or “ Wouldn’t it be cool if automatic reply was possible on texts?”
The question is, what will be done with the Grand thinking?
If we have great ideas in place, trines can remove restrictions and support the effort put in up to that point.
If we are trying to stop something from happening, a grand trine (or any trine) removes restrictions and that may not work out in our favor at all.
If we are not trying at all, and are being led in this direction and that, well, it could be a great, fun, social Full Moon. Nothin’ wrong with that.
If so much Air, sounds too distracting (and it might not), what can help?
What’s the Remedy for too much Air? How about adding another element to mix? Hey, it’s an experiment. We can’t add it to the chart, but we can add elements into our home, office and life.
Add Fire by lighting a Full Moon candle. Fire burns up the Oxygen and helps with initiative.
Add Water and you get steam. This adds emotions to the mix and in that way an attachment or emotional motivation to act on Grand plans. Use a diffuser with a natural oil scent or be extra conscious about drinking water.
Add Earth. We could say this adds an element of grounding. In Lois Sargent’s book, How to handle your human relations, she writes Air and Earth are not as adaptable as the Water and Fire, but I suspect with perspective, the value, and practicality of adding earth, can bring Air ideas into manifestation as well.
That’s it for this round. Peace to you this season.
