And so the year begins, we trust with more devotion to peace and love than ever. This becomes possible when we understand deeply who we are— all parts of us, the dark and the light. Exposing shadows, accepting our humanity, resolving to let go of the past “mistakes” and doing “better” next time, and living, as much as possible, in the present moment. This is what I think is a good plan for expanding our hearts and becoming more compassionate.
I would add, be curious about others rather than judgmental or critical, and be exposed to something we do not know yet. Something could be a philosophy, a scientific study, a culture, art, a new skill, or something we cannot define yet.
The study of evolutionary astrology can be one way to open a door to understanding who we are. It may lead to the rest of the list.
May this new year, 2018, be a year that brings peace of mind and more love into your life.
The year starts with a Full Moon in protective Cancer and we may want to spend time in the comfort of our personal environment and with those we call family.
The next day, Uranus, one of the planets which rules Astrology, stations Direct in Aries. In other words, it is has been traveling backwards through the zodiac and now, bam, returns to forward motion. Uranus, is known as the Great Awakener. What will it awaken within you at the start of the year?
At the same time Pluto and Moon are in opposition, and powerful emotions can expose hidden feelings — our own or our relatives. Jupiter and Mars are conjoined in Scorpio— oh, my, the drive and passion to study, explore and investigate what all this emotion is really about. More transits follow at the end of this article.
If one of your resolutions is to study astrology, the Book of the Month, Astrology for Yourself, is one I started with years ago and is still a good option. You’ll learn “how to understand and interpret your own birth chart” in this work book. It’s written by Douglas Bloch and Asteroid expert, Demetra George.
(You may want to look at The Encyclopedia of Astrology by Nicholas De Vore as a reference book. This is not one that I have, and is in my shopping cart for the next purchase, because it looks amazing with a wealth of information. The author was President of the New York based Astrological Research Society.
One of my 2018 Saturn in Capricorn resolutions is to work smarter. The latest article in our blog: New Year’s Resolutions has some ideas for you.
2018 Forecasts. I am a little bit embarrassed not to complete all 12 Forecasts for each Sun and Rising sign (or a way to buy them on-line.). Part of me said, just let it go. Another part, said, hey, the completed reports are pretty good, go ahead and offer them. Then, if anyone is interested in the others, finish them by request.

For Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius and Capricorn.
Included in the 9-10 page report is a message for your heart, how to use the Mars & Venus retrogrades, Evolutionary Patterns, Eclipses and more. Most of the forecast is written in common language rather than too much astrological lingo.
$5.00 per report. Paypal or Email Transfer to shawn@scorpio-moon.com. Be sure to let me know, which signs you want. They will be emailed in pdf format.
Available today: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius and Capricorn.
If you have one of these signs as a rising sign, it is worth purchasing that report. The forecasts are for Sun signs and Rising signs/Ascendant. Distinctions between the two are made where necessary. They are even more valuable if you read both: the report of Sun sign and the report for your Rising Sign.
If you are not one of these signs, I’m so sad that yours is not complete. If you would like a forecast for a sign not listed, pre-pay and I will finish the ones you request. Be sure to let me know, which signs you want.
As ever peace, Shawn
