If you read my last post, you know I’m taking a break from writing. This isn’t really writing. It’s like a Facebook post or blurb. Only on the blog. Ok? Ok. I’m still taking a break. (Wrote about it in the last post on Mars Retrograde.)
I just couldn’t leave things without sharing that it is ECLIPSE month with some strong influences. It’s worth paying attention.
- New Moon Solar Eclipse is opposite Pluto in Capricorn.
- Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is conjoined with Retrograde Mars in Aquarius.
There’s a list of articles below with more information. This is a great opportunity to observe and learn astrology.
My recommendations if you want to learn more about eclipse:
- Starting now— make a list of people who were born around January 9-11 or January 23-25. Or people who have personal planets or angles at roughly 20° Capricorn or 5 °Aquarius.
- Take notes starting a week or so before and in the 2-3 days or so afterwards. Watch for situations in the news, and on your people list involving endings, new developments, decisions like professional ones, health matters, car problems, unusual stresses, falls from grace, chaos, unusual circumstances.
- Eclipse events are not certain to happen. I tend noticed them regularly or more obviously in celebrity or politician’s lives, or my own, but not always.
- If you really get excited about eclipses read our Book of the Month to determine what Eclipse cycle this is. (I would do it, but I’m taking a writing break.)
- On the New Moon observe the January 9-11 and personal planets or angles at roughly 20° Capricorn list of people give or take a up to 2 degrees.
- On the Full Moon observe the January 23-25 and personal planets or angles at roughly 5 °Aquarius give or take a up to 2 degrees.

July’s Book of the Month…
Predictive Astrology: The Eagle and the Lark Paperback by Bernadette Brady. The title makes is sound like it is not about eclipses, but it is! She writes in the latter part of the book about Eclipses and the Eclipse Cycle called the Saros Cycle, which I tried to simplify in last August’s Total Solar Eclipse article.
The book fits the theme of the month. It also offers a process on understanding transits and progressions. Throughout my journey as an astrologer, I have tried different methods for gathering the necessary details to do a reading. I’ve had many great teachers who’ve shared what they do. Brady’s mapping system, for me, really worked well.
Lots of astrology programs have tools that do similar mapping with transits. I found that doing the work by hand, embedded the transit and progression into my left and right brain better and enhanced my intuitive skills. I could see the full picture of a time period for my clients by using her methods.
