This morning started off with a great feeling of stress. Has that ever happened to you? Nerves on edge? Maybe some things that were unexpected and shook up the routine? That happened to me, though the build up started yesterday.
After returning from a lovely family visit, one of those nasty indicator lights appeared on the dash every time I drove through a curve on the trip home through the mountains. That adventure was followed by an urgent call and series of messages from someone in a very stressful situation about a loved one. My tired response was not immediately graceful.
So this morning, happy Monday, has started with stress. The kind of stress where the vibration in the body and mind is potent along with some guilt for lack of balance. Ever been there?
Today, rather than pushing through, I took time to gain perspective, I first looked to the heavens.
We know that Saturn has slowed down. The closer to August 13, the more potential stress and feeling of the earth shifting under us. However, that slowdown period is probably not something that could be felt so viscerally without a trigger.
This morning the Moon opposes Uranus, so a short lived, stress indicator/trigger probably reactivating yesterday’s build up. Chaos from the outside, felt on the inside.
Knowing that wasn’t enough to smooth the feathers, so I pulled a Tarot card. Shuffling the cards, breathing deeply, and requesting assistance from God, setting intention for clarification and direction of focus, well, that, itself calmed me.
The card was the 6 of Swords. The Science card. Mercury in Aquarius. From Gerd Ziegler’s Tarot: Mirror of the Soul book: “Newly gained realizations also serve to demolish old ruts in personal areas and relationships. The changes that are now necessary should be communicated in such a way that others can hear, understand and accept them.”
Back to the heavens. What else? Ah, Mercury in Virgo (there’s that guilt factor) conjoins the Lunar North Node today. Another indicator of a new pattern of communication. Mercury is in Virgo so that communication pattern requires some analysis and discernment, as well as, have a practical message. The North Node shows the destiny, the path of the future that we can build on today.
This is one way we can use astrology to improve quality of life. When stress seems to stop us from making calm, well-thought out decisions, or it invades our body and mind and racks us with guilt, the symbols provide a perspective that pacifies the mind. Breathing deeply helps too.
How am I using this information today? Well, for me, I thought I would write (Mercury) something about it. Instead of a Monday morning Facebook post, I chose a blog post– different (Uranus) Hopefully others can read the message and understand it, then discern whether it is useful or not.
The message is that astrology is a tool that can help improve quality of life. De-stressing is healthy. Mercury in Virgo can be used for self-improvement in communication, rather than sending internal messages of guilt and stress.
Mercury in Virgo conjoining the North Node creates an ongoing practice to become masters of life in healthy practical ways.
In my personal life, probably looking at recent communications will be helpful, as well as, speaking clearly about next steps.
As a side note, Mercury correlates to transportation. The car is in the shop this morning (brought in before the Moon went Void of Course) … waiting to find out what will come of that screaming warning signal.

Mercury in Virgo conjoins North Node. Mastering the Art of Life.
A final destressor for you– Flowers.
This weekend, with my family, we went to a garage sale, and I found this lovely watercolor print for $1.00.
Thanks to Blooming Bobville, the Practical Poet, for taking a picture of it.
Enjoy your week.
