Have you decided to make a New Year’s Resolution, but do not know what it will be yet? Or do you feel like a resolution would be a waste of time? What if we could make it more interesting and choose a resolution using astrology?
Though I don’t always make a resolution, two of my tricks for success are:
1. Write it down and post it somewhere visible where I will see it from time to time during the year.
2. Choose something concrete, solid, a stretch, but attainable and not boring or practical like losing weight.
In 2017 mine was to encourage ShawnSky Farmer to hang a painting at a local art show. By the end of the year, she did– more than once. Not only that she sold two paintings. The best part is that she was following her Libra North Node destiny which for some can involve a relationship with art and beauty.
This year with Saturn having ingressed into Capricorn, we have added support for successful long-term commitments. Saturn is the astrological ruler of Capricorn, so the energy of dedication to achievement over time is heightened.
Don’t expect instant coffee. Do expect the reward of success when stay focused and work toward the prize. Plan to also make room for fun. Believe it or not, Capricorn, is also a sign that knows a thing or two about fun and humor. Some of the most hilarious and entertaining people I know are Capricorns. One famous Cap is comedian Jim Carrey.
Capricorns know about managing life. They understand rules (and resolutions) and the need for them, so the chance of chaos is reduced. They know what works. When something does not succeed, they seem to be able to find humor in the foibles of humans.
For fun (not necessarily funny), with Saturn just having entered witty! Capricorn, let’s play around with making resolutions for each Sun sign and get the creative juices flowing for 2018.
Prime Directive
Your Sun sign plus the House placement in your horoscope represents your Prime Directive in life. This combination, Sun sign and House, is where the action takes place. It is what you were born to do whether you can do it right out of the womb or not. Some accomplish this quickly, others progressively.
So, why not, pick a resolution for 2018, to reinforce your birth right?
The formula: Sun sign + House Location = 2018 New Year’s Resolution
Don’t know your house location? There are three pieces of information required to find out. For now, just brainstorm with your Sun sign information.
First, the zodiac signs general mission
Aries. The Pioneer requires freedom and independence to discover Self. Fire. Cardinal.
Taurus. The Manifestor needs to build stability through material world. Earth. Fixed.
Gemini. The Communicator learns about the world through networking. Air. Mutable.
Cancer. The Nurturer longs for inner security. Water. Cardinal.
Leo. The Creative needs to feel special and powerful. Fire. Fixed.
Virgo. The Helper wants to serve through making skilled thoughtful improvements. Earth. Mutable.
Libra. The Cooperator seeks balanced giving and receiving. Air. Cardinal.
Scorpio. The Intensive desires true emotional sharing and transformation. Water. Fixed.
Sagittarius. The Seeker expands the mind on quests to find meaning. Fire. Mutable.
Capricorn. The Achiever contributes to society by building and organizing. Earth. Cardinal.
Aquarius. The Reformer’s original thinking creates global awareness and social change. Air. Fixed.
Pisces. The Mystic seeks collective unity through ideals, dreams and transcendence. Water. Mutable.
Brainstorming Resolutions
Below are examples created from your Sun sign’s general mission. You know yourself best, so use the mission to develop a more specific resolution for you. Consider your element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) and quality (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable) to determine what pace you’ll be comfortable committing to. Add your Sun sign’s house, if you want.
If you are a Fire sign, imagine how Fire would behave. For example, Aries (Cardinal) sparks a fire. Leo’s Fixed fire burns steady, while Sagittarius’ Mutable fire spreads. Cardinal initiates. Fixed is steady, slower to change. Mutable is flexible and moveable.
I would love to read your resolutions– what you come up with for yourself. Just add them in the comment box below this article.
