A Scorpio Moon. I fancy these new moons, because, well, it’s my website’s name, it’s my own moon sign, and Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, who is a foundational character in Evolutionary Astrology as taught by my first teacher, Jeffrey Wolfe Green.
Scorpio. Transformative. Metamorphic. Represented by the the Scorpion, the Eagle and the Dove, who mourns inevitable losses. Esoterically, Scorpio desires to merge with All That Is, with the Divine. Its journey is about letting go of Ego. To experience no-Ego, ‘release’ is a great thing to figure out. The reason I emphasize the phases and cycles so much when I write and why the website was named Scorpio Moon, is that an important component of evolution is gain acceptance of on-going change.
Understanding the nature of the Circle, that there is a beginning, an end, and other turning points in between, we osmose the understanding of Scorpio. Through deep study, we comprehend the complete journey of life through all of the signs, from the beginning, Aries, to the last, Pisces, from Spring to Winter, from birth to death. Last night I was beginning to reread Mark Jones latest book, The Soul Speaks, for a Counseling course he is offering, and was reminded again, how each sign, from beginning to end takes us through the journey to understand our own lives, from conception to the inescapable transition out of the body.
It’s a Scorpio Moon! Can we see anything during a New Moon? Not the day before nor even the day after. Sit in the well, in the cave of the psyche and birth an intention for the next lunar cycle. See where it will take you. Some ideas: Choose to let go of what does not provide genuine meaning in your life. Envision rebirthing a passion. Look deeply into the psychology of intimate relations. Consider some practical changes, too, after all there is a lot of Virgo emphasis these days with Jupiter and Node sign change. Those could revolve around financial matters, shared resources, and business contracts.
The True Nodes change signs today, too and there is a Venus Pallas last quarter square. More about those below. To the Scorpio Moon, peace, Shawn
Comments. The closest transits to in the new moon chart involve Venus and Pallas Athene, which may extend or boost the recent Venus/Mars conjunction on November 2. Whatever was released or seeded, has some attention brought to it. Scorpio has an intent focus on finding deeper psychological meaning, so expect or intend ‘depth’. Pallas Athene has a quality of courage that resembles, but is not Mars. Pallas is wise. She is a strategist and warrior goddess. In Capricorn, she is concerned with the final bits of boundaries, integrity and manifestation. Quite useful, if clear decisions were made when Venus met Mars on the 2nd. How do we do what we said we would?
And in balsamic phase, is some of that meant to be let go of? One of the natural rulers of Pallas is Libra according to Demetra Georges’ famous Asteroid Goddesses book. Pallas is well equipped to work with Venus, and, I, for one, am trusting that negotiation will be done in an honorable fashion as the two meet in a last quarter square today. The New Moon is in crescent phase to Venus in Libra firming up the commitment to understand and identify further ways to give and receive peacefully and harmoniously through better listening.
Just to be clear, when we talk about Venus and Mars and relating, this is for all humans, not just those who have a committed or uncommitted partner. Relating is relating to another sentient being. Venus, our essential needs and Mars, our passion and desire, can be directed toward the tangible and
Find what house in your natal chart, the nodes fall in, to determine and where Jupiter and Neptune are. See how those planets are being offered the opportunity to resolve or let go of old patterns. The house that the North Node travels in will assist the development of Mercury in the natal chart. One consideration is that some practical use of cognitive function is being developed and perhaps some release can occur in the next year and a half in an area that we have delusions about or where we continually fantasize, daydream, or where feel we are sacrificial lambs or simply a house which represents territory up for healing. Appropriate dreams can be made real, if the mind/Mercury is trained, comes to mind.
Keep in mind this is a fundamentally different feeling than the Aries/Libra Nodal Axis which was Cardinal and more up to taking action and letting instinct prevail. (We are working with True Nodes. Some astrologers use Mean Nodes.)
Pisces/Virgo is Mutable, flexible and flowing. It might take a bit longer to become clear. We may think we know, but the tide can change. We may turn about mid-stream and then back again. Or let the cool cool water refresh us, while we let it swirl past.Share, please and thank you.
