Yikes! I know it could be December when you see this. Hopefully you’ll see an updated Celestial Climate by the end of December 1.
Our spot for thoughts on the current astrological climate as time permits.
Each month I look at the list of transits and wonder which ones will be relevant or interesting for readers of this blog. New Moons and Full Moons are favorites because the Moon moves quickly, engages with our emotions and responses to life. They gives us a shorter window of influence and a chance to try something new.
The Moon times (or Moon phases) can be easier to understand than a longer transit or an aspect that jumps out and makes us feel, Hey what does that mean to me!? More on the New Moon and Full Moon later. For now let’s consider how November begins.
This month starts with Saturn in Sagittarius squaring Chiron in Pisces in a last quarter phase. To figure out “what does this mean to me?”, we look at the symbolism of the planets and the signs. We remember with Saturn there is a connection to the world, the society we live in, the conditioning we’ve become accustomed to. Chiron takes on a journey of remembering ancient wounds and what gifts those wounds bring through maturity and time. How can we use our gifts to help others? Can we accept what happened and let go of the hurts? That was then, and this is now. I try to remember that when triggered by situations or others’ behavior.
Note: Unless Saturn and Chiron is active in your birth chart, think of this transit as one which influences us all… as a group, society and planet.
In these previous few sentences, without looking at the signs, we can already surmise there is work to do with healing. Since this is the last transit of three, we could also say that this time period is one of becoming clear, fully maturing or taking responsibility of the assignment handed out at the end of 2016 with the first square. To clinch this interpretation of “taking responsibility,” note the last quarter phase which has similar energy to the 10th house of the zodiac wheel.
Next we add the signs Sagittarius and Pisces. Sagittarius correlates to deeper meaning, philosophies, wisdom and intuition. Pisces is also intuitive and connected to everything that is, in its most spacious form. This is because it is the last sign of the zodiac. It knows all and transcends all boundaries. When we add this to the mix, we might reflect that there is a deeper meaning to this healing work which transcends all time and space, including the collective of souls on the planet and beyond.
This deeper meaning is fluid, different for the individual, different for the culture or collective. Sagittarius and Pisces are mutable signs potentially more flexible and changeable.
Astrology is symbolic, rhythmic and cyclical. One moment in time is part of a larger cycle. We can decide this entry to November is a time for profound deep healing of events occurring in the present. We could reflect on patterns from the past. It’s up to us as individuals. The same flow applies to those interconnected parts of us. May peace and healing be yours this month.
November’s Moon Cycle: Inner and Outer Security
Full Moon in Taurus on November 3
What’s important to you in a practical way? In a way that reflects your self-love and respects your own value system — your inherent knowing of what is right and wrong. The lunar cycle, which started in Libra at the New Moon on October 19, put the focus on interrelationships, collaboration and beauty. To bring the energy into fullness or into full view, Taurus, the feminine or yin side of Venus, encourages us to look within. Create an inner environment of emotional security. Plus, as always, with Taurus, a nourishing, luxurious snack helps.
This is such a lovely New Moon supported by the spaciousness of vision from Neptune, who trines the Sun. Possibilities have no boundaries. At the same time the support from the Saturn/Uranus trine create an environment of making quick adjustments and change. Be careful what you wish for or what you avoid. If the stage has been set by previous efforts, whoosh, sliding into success is highly probable.
New Moon in Scorpio November on November 18
Any time we see Scorpio, in our birth charts, or in short periods when the Moon is in Scorpio, we can think about the possibility of transformation, emotional healing and soul growth. This kind of extensive and deep metamorphose and healing happens when we are ok with letting go of attachments. These attachments may be old expectations of what a committed relationship might look like or how resources are shared between partners.
There is a definite vibe of adjustment from Uranus in Aries as it makes an inconjunct to the Moon and Sun. Uranus can clear up the lens of our perspective. It might even shatter the lens, so that a new one must be ordered and installed. Wake up to what is no longer serving you and your security needs especially where others are involved. A fresh view is helpful for this New Moon even if — especially if — something ugly walks out from the shadows. It’s all for the good, for growth and happiness.
This New Moon is supported by this year’s Jupiter in Scorpio cycle.
Note: As always we must consult the actual birth chart to see if the energies of these moons are strongly relevant personally.
November Book of the Month:
Steven Forrest mentioned this book in his contribution to Scorpio Moon Asks. I started to read the book a few weeks back. What I love is Singer’s use language. The book doesn’t intimidate me or write over my head. He describes what is happening inside us, in our non-stop chattering minds and how to discover who we really are behind all that talk. Even better, I’m feel encouraged by Singer that paying attention and letting go will improve my experience of life.
